Ewer

A pottery pitcher of a different sort.

This pouring vessel is a modern take on a pottery ewer from 1000 BC china, western Zhou. I fell in love with the original and wanted to make it for the wood and gas kiln. 

I use one of these ewers for ice tea and hot tea, water and wine.

9" tall to the top of the handle, 6" diameter at the wideness of the belly. Approx. 40oz, or 5 cups.

Wood firing this pot creates the beautiful variations of honey-colors hues, and ash deposits.

Dishwasher safe.
